Babcock
Park, located off Morey Avenue in Dansville, is the largest of
Dansville's parks. It consist of approximately 40 acres of both passive
and athletic areas. Babcock park was built through the efforts of both
volunteer groups, state grants, and Village contributions.
In
addition to being the largest of the parks, it is also the most widely
used. Dansville Central School uses the hardball fiedl in the park in
exchange for mowing services. The Village of Dansville employs a park
maintenance supervisor for Babcock Park during the mowing season.
The
Dansville Fire Department occupies a large recreation area that is an
integral part of the park.
