Administration Accomplishments

  1. Creation of Village Administrator Position.
  2. Contract With Private Grant Consultant.
  3. Obtained New York State Restore NY Grant of 2.5 Million Dollars For Castle On Hill Project.
  4. Established direct relationship with NYS Governors Office.
  5. Investigated and Initiated overview of Ambulance Billing To Insurance Companies that could bring $150,000 - $250,000/per Year To Ambulance Department.
  6. Studied Telephone Service and Signed contract that saved $3,000 Per Year.
  7. Eliminated $12,000/year contract with ADP Payroll services and initiated in house payroll.
  8. Brought up to date 3 years of back financial reporting to NYS OSC
  9. Re-established relationship with county administrator.
  10. Met with sheriff York regarding the 911 center and subsequently made decision to eliminate redundant local dispatchers/while negotiating with Sheriff to employ all full time dispatchers. Annual cost savings of $160,000.00/year.
  11. Entered into agreement with Energy Curtailment for an annual payback of @ 3,000/year.
  12. Re-negotiated our employee health insurance providing as good a coverage, while adding a Health Reimbursement Account for all employees and saved the village $60,000 per year every year, as well as saving the employees 20% on their share of the insurance.
  13. Negotiated a new contract with Police Department that eliminated the burdensome employee discipline provisions and re-established Village Law as the basis for employee discipline procedures.
  14. Negotiated a two year extension of the current CSEA Contract.
  15. Hosted Senator Schumer on two separate occasions here in Dansville.
  16. Hosted Senator Cathy Young on several occasions here in Dansville.
  17. As the last village in Livingston County, turned our assessing duties over to the county and installed their county tax collection software.
  18. Worked with Livingston County Highway Department to select and supported the installation of the new Red Jacket Street bridge. Through Village participation, we included sidewalks and street lighting to thoroughly enhance the location.
  19. Eliminated the redundant and expensive annual cleanup by the village that saved @20,000/ year.
  20. Eliminated Code Enforcement Officer clerks position saving $7,300/year.
  21. Reduced Code Enforcement expenses by $7,000/year.
  22. Reduced attorney expenses by $13,000/year.
  23. Initiated bill monitoring system for our utilities that has resulted in excess of $1,000/year.
  24. Eliminated our animal control expenses @7,300/year
  25. Obtained a record archive grant for $28,000, and applied for 2nd round of archive records grant.
  26. Sold Village owned trees in local parks $32,000.
  27. Established Developer Regulations: Met with DEDC group and with their endorsement pursued establishment of standardized developer regulations manual.
  28. Prepared and established Employee Manual with the beginning implementation of a written policy and procedures manual.
  29. Converted the Comp Plan to a fully electronic manual.
  30. Initiated the conversion all village documentation to electronic format for search and retrieval to include all village laws, comp plan, employee manual, policy and procedures, etc.
  31. Successfully obtained an economic stimulus allotment for our streets of $370,000.
  32. Re-negotiated fair fire contracts with North Dansville and Ossian which increased revenue by $35,000.
  33. Obtained Consolidation Study grant to study consolidation options with the Town Of North Dansville.
  34. Established a standardized budget with detailed explanations.
  35. First year Budget presentation reduced tax rate by 56¢ per thousand.
  36. Second year Budget held tax rate with no increase.
  37. Reduced Village Debt by $1,385,942.
  38. Met with FEMA to initiate a change in Flood Mapping in Dansville.
  39. Obtained Court Grant for security equipment.
  40. Established Complete computerization of court reporting.
  41. Established and have maintained a workable chain of command in all Village work forces.
  42. Initiated Credit Card Bill payment for water and sewer department.
  43. Submitted several applications for grants in process at this time.
